Variable Rate Seed

Quad bike ready for action We use a scanner towed behind a quad bike to map variations in the soil type within a single field. We take two measurements up to 1m deep to determine soil type and texture. The field can then be divided into zones for more exact targeting with your variable rate seed.

Variable rate seed can contribute to a more uniform yield once we have the zones in place. With the use of GPS we can manage the zones to maximise the yield. Your sample points are GPS logged so data can be built up and compared over time to further still enhance your yield.

There is a major advantage to scanning the soil type in this way and that is that it is a once only task as soil types do not move. Thus, future actions would only necessitate soil sampling for nutrient levels.
